Conduct and Support Research

ICF's third significant activity is the support and conduct of research into the effect of early trauma on attachment.

Children suffering such effects have often been considered "untreatable" due to their limited response to traditional methodologies, so further research is critically needed. This activity includes developing new assessment and related materials, researching the efficacy of therapeutic models, and conducting other research that promises to help us understand and remediate the effects of childhood trauma.

ICF staff, often in collaboration with professional colleagues, will conduct this activity. Any intellectual property generated in the course of research and research-related activities carried out by or on behalf of ICF will become property of ICF. Research-related activities further ICF's charitable purposes by advancing the state of science in the field. This activity has begun on a very limited basis, but will be expanded to eventually comprise approximately 20% of ICF activities.
